Women's Vulvarine Chamois

I loved the idea of minimalistic chamois for bike touring, as I usually don’t wear them in normal life. Within a few rides they started rolling up my legs becoming booty shorts, they stretched out, and the padding stopped where my saddle stops and caused major skin irritation. I’m an XL lady (5’10” and 180lbs) and they just didn’t work for me. I could image them being okay for a smaller gal doing short rides. Aside from the riding fit not being good, they are amazingly comfortable to wear when off the bike.

I almost ordered M and glad I didn't. L is pretty snug on me. I'm 170 lbs more or less, and 5'3". The waistband did stretch out a bit after wearing/washing it a couple times and got less tight in the midsection. The thighs do move up a little bit shorter when you ride, but that doesn't bother me. I ride a 155 mm saddle. The padding is PERFECTION. I've never had shorts this comfortable before. I'll probably wear these to death.

The fabric, great. The high waistband, great. The chamois, v great. The general fit, also great. But they curl and ride up after 15 min of riding. Colossal sad face.
For reference: I'm 5'6" and 160 lbs. Hip is 41.5, which should be a M per the size chart, but I sized up to a L informed by a previous sundog pant purchase from CC (sundogs are the best, btw. I wear them aaallll the time). My thigh where the shorts hit on my dominant leg is 25.5". The waistband and bum fit is great, the shorts don't ride or roll while standing, but once the pedals start turning, they def go for a northerly hike. I've had similar problems with other shorts, and it seems like the only way to fix it for me is a longer inseam. Whomp-whomp.

I really wanted to love these. Two things: 1) The padding in the chamois is perfect. It’s focused under the sit bones and does not put pressure on your sensitive lady bite, BUT the chamois seam is stitched directly at the edge of all my female-specific Ergon and Specialized saddles. Would be perfect if the “wings” extended further out. 2) I bought according to my measurements and the size chart, and they’re huge.

These are bar none the bast chamois in my fleet of bike shorts - the ones I want to teach for each time and loathe when I have to wear my other pairs. I’m going to slowly replace everything with these - so comfortable and thin/ I have muscular legs and these don’t ride up or bother me - I don’t even mind putting these on and driving an hour wearing them - seriously do yourself a favor and buy! I’m 5,5 140 and love the fit on the large. Could likely size down for a more snug fit if that’s your preference but these are great for me in the large.
