I am never bummed that
winter is so long in Montana,
only sad that fall seems so short.
Looking out my window at the Bridgers, I’m struck by how alive everything feels in this seasonal shift. The light’s gone golden, every morning has a mist, and the air’s turned sharp. Somehow—no matter how many years we’ve lived here—I’m always underpacked. (Layers, snacks, lights, diapers?!)
Our new Fall Capsule reflects that same transition—built for the moments between seasons, between sports, between plans. A jacket for Moab Friendsgivings and parking lot beers after early season “fast grass” skiing at Bridger.
One of my favorite treats of this past fall is our 7 miles of new trails built in the Bridger Range. This was a remarkable community effort and collaboration between SWMBA, the Dirt Concern and Crosscut.
Better than a PSL, these trails have brought the Bozeman community together in an inspiring way. They were a much-needed exclamation point on our short riding season.
Our pal Leslie came over from Red Lodge to capture the magic and we assembled the A team of riders, jokesters, and playful punks that are Jimmy, Lila, and Chad with the welcome addition of Cadel. Cadel impressed with airs and speed of course, but also whipped out her math homework to finish at the top of the climb.
I also want to talk about versatility. The shoulder season reminds us of the in betweens. The bikers that are also skiers, climbers, runners, and scramblers. Our new Ramble Scramble Pant is built exactly for you. Designed for mountain biking but field-tested and approved for everything else you do when the trails might be wet, snow could be in the forecast, or you just want to do a little of everything the mountains have to offer—on two wheels or two feet.
Soft, durable, Fair Trade Certified™ — this collection was made for all the in-between moments that remind us who we are, and why doing things the right way still matters. It’s our job to care about how our products are made and it’s yours to keep asking the hard questions.
“The veil is thin” is a witchy Pagan phrase I love to use in October meaning the veil between our physical world and the spirit world is thinnest this time of year and spirits, ghosts and ancestors can cross between at ease. The veil is also thin between our sports as our identities shift with the weather in this season of playing in the mountains. I swear I can feel that in the air, so next time you feel a chill—throw on your Hungry Horse Jacket, of course—but then give those friendly ghosts a high five and wonder at the magic in the air.
I hope you'll love these pieces as much as I loved creating them for you and picturing all the grand adventures you will take them on.
With gratitude and ghosts,
Natasha Woodworth
