The 8.5" inseam hits that perfect middle ground—long enough for trail protection, short enough for town cruises. Crafted with buttery-soft, ultra-breathable four-way stretch and a wide pull-on waistband that won’t dig, shift, or bunch. It moves with you through berms, climbs, and those “uh-oh” moments. Tailored for women, obsessively dialed for fit, and made to be lived in—wherever the ride takes you.

We used a majority of polyester in this short for performance and dry times but with the added bonus of it being easy to recycle. So if your Sun Dog short ever does reach the end of its very long and happy life you can send it back to us for recycling, supporting a circular economy.
Whats a Sun Dog?

A sun dog is an atmospheric optical phenomenon that consists of a bright spot to one or both sides of the Sun. Two sun dogs often flank the Sun within a 22° halo making a beautiful and magical circle around the sun.
The refraction of sunlight is caused by ice crystals in the atmosphere which act as prisms, bending the light rays passing through.

All the time wear!

I have worn these shorts for gravel races and multi-day bike packing trips. I've had them for a year now and they have held up fantastically! Including no rips in a pretty good crash. They wore beautifully over 3 days of heavy mountain bike touring. I am 5' 6"and 165 lbs with a big butt & muscular thighs, the size 12 are perfect!

Nice but too pricey for what you get

They are nice, but I assumed they had padding for the amount of money they cost.

pockets!

It's been a journey to get the right saddle/ chamois combo which really just means I am extremely limited on style points. These shorts go over my favorite bibs for long days out and suddenly I get two zipper pockets that securely hold my phone and lip balm. The fabric is tough enough to withstand a little bushwhacking, and the waist band doesn't cut in when I'm on the bike. I've found myself reaching for them on their own for days on the beach and appreciating how quick dry they are!

Comfy, versatile, and flattering!

Absolute favorite shorts! The new colors and fit are perfect! The stretchy/high waistband is super soft and stays in place really well while pedaling, running, frolicking, etc. The two zipper pockets are in a perfect spot to be accessible without interfering with pedaling. I also have a pair of the original Sun Dog shorts that have seen a ton of use over the past few years and they’re still going strong! I’m 5’9” and 155# with athletic thighs/legs/booty and the 8 fits me well!
