The Women’s Hungry Horse Jacket blends cozy warmth with versatile style, making it the layer you’ll live in all season long.
We hated having to chose between our canvas workwear which was stiff and uncomfortable and our soft performance fleece which was delicate and styled for sports. So we combined this magical thick and lofty fleece into a classic workwear design. Our Hungry Horse Jacket is drawn from classic American workwear and reimagined in a breathable and cozy fleece package. Did we mention how many pockets it has? Seven.
Like any fleece, this fabric wears in over time and a pebbled look can be expected with use. If you want to return your Hungry Horse to looking brand new use a sweater stone to perk her up!
This jacket was made in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory, using Bluesign® approved fabrics. We are proud members of 1% for the Planet.
The Hungry Horse Jacket was named in the spirit of a Montana legend: two draft horses, Tex and Jerry, who wandered off into a brutal winter and somehow survived. This jacket channels that same stubborn grit — built cozy, durable, and ready for whatever the season throws your way.

Haven't yet thought of a place I wouldn't wear my Hungry Horse! It's so comfortable and soft. Great insulation. Beautifully constructed, with a sculptural collar. I bought a Small. Fit is boxy in a good way. Plenty of room for a sweater underneath. I'm 5'6". about 150, new mama build.
I love the plaid; it's beautiful. Super warm, awesome extra pockets!! I got a small and I'm very happy with the fit. I usually wear a medium but the small is still room enough for a long sleeve under it. Probably not anything thicker than that. If it would actually get cold here in SF, I could tell you more, but so far I love it.
I'm drinking camp wine, the fire is blazing, I have a baggie filled with snacking cheese, and I am wearing my new favorite wool layer.
Even in the rain, I stayed dry, warm, and felt like I was wearing a blanket.
My husband made me braid my hair and turn around so he could take a evermore inspired Taylor Swift picture.
My new favorite campfire hangout jacket I have fondly named my Smoking Jacket. Cozy and warm and perfect to throw over anything. Also looks cute as a fall layer. She's a sturdy layer and I've got lots of compliments on it!
